Air tanks are common pressure-bearing vessels in my country, frequently utilized in industrial compressed air systems. Because they store gas under pressure, their design, manufacture, and operation cannot be treated like ordinary equipment; instead, they must comply with relevant national standards and safety technical requirements. Key standards include the GB/T 150 "Pressure Vessels" series and the "Safety Technical Supervision Regulation on Stationary Pressure Vessels" (TSG 21). These standards mandate requirements for design, materials, fabrication, inspection, and operational safety, aiming to ensure the tank operates safely and stably under normal working pressures.

During the manufacturing process, factors such as tank material, wall thickness, weld quality, and structural design are critical. Manufacturers must select appropriate materials and structural configurations based on the tank's design pressure, operating temperature, volume, and the properties of the stored gas. Upon completion, the tank must undergo inspections and testing in accordance with regulations, specifically focusing on weld seams, structural integrity, and safety accessories. Devices such as pressure gauges and safety valves must be correctly installed and must not be arbitrarily replaced or removed. Tanks falling under the regulatory scope for special equipment must also undergo required administrative procedures and be subject to mandatory supervisory inspections and operational management.

Safety management remains crucial once the air tank is put into service. Operators must conduct routine inspections and maintenance tailored to the equipment's specific conditions, monitoring pressure gauges for normal readings and checking the tank for signs of corrosion, deformation, or leakage. Condensate tends to accumulate at the bottom of the tank; failure to drain it regularly can accelerate internal corrosion, so proper drainage procedures must be followed based on actual usage. Additionally, periodic inspections must be performed in compliance with regulations, with any issues addressed promptly. In summary, industry standards for air tanks center on design, manufacture, inspection, installation, and operational safety; compliance across all these stages is essential to guarantee the equipment's long-term safety and reliability.
